boring 08/29/2008

So the boys tell me yesterday that our very own Wall-e is a boring pet and they would like a puppy now.  You should have seen the look on my face, it's must have been a good one because they both quickly said never mind.  He does sleep an awfully lot and I have to admit that I would love a puppy.  Just don't tell Jake or the boys that.  They will go straight to the humane society and adopt one.  But we do have to wait until Noah has been on his allergy drops for at least 2 years.  8 months down....and counting

The boys both had their yearly check ups this week and they are both doing great and growing along just fine.  Ethan only needs to grow 1 1/2 inches to ride Indiana Jones!! Yay...too bad we already went this summer.

We also had their open house/curriculum night at school this week.  Their teachers tell me they are doing great.  Actually, Noah's teacher said he was doing phenomenal!  Of course I know that already since I volunteer in both their classes. ;-) But it's nice to hear it from them.

The boys learned a hard lesson this morning.  There's no TV before school when you don't cooperate.  They think I am the meanest mommy now.  Now that school isn't so new and exciting they lack the will and the want to get ready and eat breakfast in time.  Since Noah started school way back in 2004 we have never been late to school.  Not once.  And I don't plan on messing up my perfect record just yet!  Once they get that straight, maybe they can watch a little TV, but only after they are dressed and ready to roll!  :-)

Looks like we survived the first week without any problems.  Noah and Ethan both really like their teachers.   They come home everyday talking a mile of minute telling me about all the stuff they did.  And they seem to be on the same "special" rotation.  They had PE the other day and Ethan came home saying he really liked going to PS.  It was too funny.  Of course Noah has to point out that he doesn't know what he's talking about.   Brothers!
Ethan is growing up way too fast for us.  He wants me to drop him off every morning in the parent drop off so he can walk to class all by himself because according to him-  he's a big boy now.  I just can't quite do that yet.  I am not ready to let him grow up that fast.  He is so different then his brother.   So independent.
We promised them a movie this weekend if they were good all week.  And of course they picked The Clone Wars.  So we will be watching that tomorrow.

They had a great first day yesterday.  There were no tears - just smiles.   Jake looked sad though.   It hasn't hit me yet since I helped all day.   Today I went in and helped  the kindergartener's at lunch time.  Ethan seems to be adjusting fine.   Now I am home and don't know what to do.    It's awfully quiet.

Well this is our second day with Wall-e.  He has almost escaped twice now.  But I'm just too quick for him.  He seems to be adjusting fine.  The boys just won't leave him alone though.  Well at least he will get a break when their in school.  Which by the way starts this Monday.   Tomorrow they have their Meet the Teacher in the morning.   They know their teachers already so it should be easy cheesy.
