wow! 10/17/2009
I can't believe how much time has passed since I blogged last. I am really lagging on this. Well alot has happened since I last posted something. Noah fractured his elbow last February and missed soccer season. Ethan was our soccer star with over 30 goals made in 7 games. Noah passed 3rd grade with straight A's for the entire school year and Ethan did awesome as well "promoting" from Kinder to 1st. We are blessed to have 2 intelligent, fun loving, healthy, handsome boys. We had alot of fun this summer. We went to San Diego for 8 days. Spent alot of time on the beach and also visiting with my family. It's great to see the boys spend time with their other cousins. And there's quite a few on that side. :) We also went up to Prescott with Grammy, Aunt Kathy, and the Batizy's and spent 4th of July weekend in a cabin. We all had a nice time relaxing and exploring. Noah turned 9 in April, Ethan turned 6 in July, and Jake also had a birthday in July. School started up again and they are really liking school this year. Such a blessing to have them want to go to school. I went back to work this year after taking a 9 1/2 year break. I am actually really enjoying my job. I work at the school as an instructional aide. Jake is still working for ADOT and still enjoying his job. I am sure though if the opportunity presented itself, he would love to take a turn being a "stay at home" dad. Gotta play that lottery! Jake and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We took a second honeymoon, left the kids behind with their Auntie and Uncle, and spent 4 days in San Francisco and Ukiah. We had a great time and can't wait to go back. I promise to post pictures soon and update more often. :) Luke Days 2009 03/22/2009
We took the boys to see the airshow today. We all had a great time. The F-22 Raptor is amazing! We were all in awe...it was just amazing (for lack of a better word). Ethan was very disappointed when he found out there wasn't a line to get on the jets. Like I would have let him anyway...silly boy. I posted some pics under the title "Luke airshow". Report cards were given out today and one had straight A's and the other is excelling in all areas! Woo Hoo! Couple of smarties we got here. Soccer star! 03/10/2009
Our little soccer star - Ethan - had a break out first game of the season. He scored 6 goals!! Woo Hoo! Thanks coach Jake! ;-) Craziness 03/10/2009
Well one day before soccer practice started a couple of weeks ago, Noah performed a stunt and failed. He decided to stand on his brand new soccer ball with both feet and fell off. He extended his right arm out to catch himself and landed on his hand. So after 4 hours in the er that night, we come to find out he has a double fracture on his right elbow. Actually the radiologist on duty misread the xray and said there was no fracture, the PA on duty caught one fracture, and the Orthopaedic surgeon we saw 2 days later is the one that said it was a double fracture. So it was a crazy night. He has to wear his cast for a total of 6 weeks. That's when they will take this one off, xray him again, and then decide from there whether he needs another cast, no cast, or surgery. We are hoping for either the first 2. :-) It was a day that we will never forget and a scream I can't get out of my head. life 02/19/2009
I haven't been on here in a while, there really wasn't much going on there for a while. We've had some bouts of ear infections and strep throats. That's always fun. The boys have had excellent report cards and progress reports recently, they are both doing fantastic in school. We start soccer season soon....yay for soccer! And we just got back from a four day trip up north. We took them to Flagstaff for some fun in the snow. I posted some pictures under the title snow fun. Noah and Ethan both had a full day of ski school at Snowbowl. They did awesome. Ethan picked it up quicker then Noah did. I think Ethan did about 6 rounds on the chair lift and Noah did 3. We missed a few since we were inside staying warm...it was very cold up there with the wind blowing. When they had their lunch break, Noah stated that it was the worse day of his life. When 3 o'clock rolled around and he got the hang of it, it ended up being the best weekend of his life. He's so funny. Next time we hit the slopes, it'll be my turn for ski school and hopefully not the worse day of my life. ;-) Birthday wishes 01/05/2009
Happy Birthday Grandpa....we love you!!! Ethan- our little star 12/26/2008
Ethan's class performed 4 songs at their winter concert about 2 weeks ago. He did absolutely awesome. I wish you all could have been there. He was hilarious and so animated. We did videotape it and hope to have it posted here or maybe I will just email it to some of you. Please remind me to send it to you if I happen to forget and you would like to see it. Here are some pictures in the meantime. There's one with Ethan and his Kindergarten teacher (who we just love!) and one of the tree that he made at school...sugar rush for sure! So glad he decided not to eat it. Time to reflect 12/26/2008
I just can't quite understand how this year is almost over (well a few days away). Time has really gone by way too fast. We are all a year older, and I hope, a year wiser. In Noah and Ethan's case, way too wise for their age. They sure are a couple of smarty pants but mostly in the good way. I look at them sometimes when they are busy with something and really just LOOK at them and remember how truly blessed I am, how truly blessed we are. That's when I wish time would stop so I could hold on to my boys and keep them young, safe, and innocent forever. But I know that's not possible so I give them lots of hugs, kisses, and tell them how much I love them as often as I can. Life truly is too short and you never know what's going to be around the corner. Birthday wishes 12/01/2008
